Auction Guidelines

First Time Attending an Aris Auction?
No need to feel intimated if you have never attended an auction before.  You
can scratch your nose or blink your eyes without the auctioneer mistaking the
movement for a bid.  Just follow the simple process below and come
prepared to have some fun!

Preview
Check out the merchandise during the preview which runs anywhere from 1
to 1 1/2 hours before the auction starts.  Once the auction begins it is fast
paced and you will want to be prepared to be ready to bid on the items that
you are interested in.

Registration Guidelines
In order to bid during the auction, you will need to register for a bid card.
Registration requires you to show a
photo ID such as a driver's license or
state issued identification card.  You'll complete the information on the bid
card including name, address, phone number and signature. By signing the
bid card you agree to auction rules including paying for the merchandise at
closing bid price, plus a 10% buyer's premium and state sales tax.
Merchandise is sold "as is" and can not be returned. The auctioneer will point
out any imperfections or defaults that he is aware of. Aris Auctions
will not
give or sell your personal information to anyone.  You will be added to our
mail list to be informed about future auctions unless you let us know you do
not want to receive our mailings.

Auction Process
In most auctions, the auctioneer will begin in one room or area and auction
each marked lot in the given area until all lot items have been sold. You just
need to listen, have your bid card ready to raise (we move very quickly) and
make sure the auctioneer is aware of your bid. Some items will be sold as
individual lots while others will be sold as "high bidders choice". In this case,
there may be several similar items, and the winning bidder will have the
option of choosing one or more of the items, each at the winning bid price.
Remaining items will be offered to the backup bidder at the same price. Many
successful bidders make sure they preview each item before the auction
begins and they set a maximum price they are willing to spend for that item.
The lot number and maximum bid price can be notated by you on the back of
your bid card, thereby ensuring privacy and enabling you to predetermine
your plans and not miss out on that dream item you desire. Most important,
remember that we do our best to make this an enjoyable event, so relax,
have fun and happy bidding!

Check Out Process
Once you are ready to check out, take your bid card to the registration desk
to make payment and receive your receipt.  Show your receipt to an Aris
Auction's staff person who can help you collect your merchandise.  It is
important that a staff person check off your merchandise as you obtain it, to
ensure that each buyer receives the right merchandise.

If you have purchased an item that is too large for you to take with you, you
will be given additional time to make pick up arrangements following the
auction.  Typically this is the same day within 2-3 hours following the auction.
Please see the auctioneer if you need to arrange to pick up merchandise the
following day.
